    What is Jungian Therapy?

Carl Jung founded analytical psychology — a form of in-depth psychotherapy centered on personal growth and understanding the deeper causes of psychological struggles. Rather than focusing narrowly on symptoms, Jungian therapy views the therapeutic process as a genuine dialogue between two people, aimed at helping clients understand themselves at a deeper level so they can find their own, most authentic solutions to life's challenges.

    Unblocking the Self

When the natural process of becoming one's whole self is blocked, mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, addictions, and compulsions can take root — along with destructive patterns in relationships.

    Fostering Wholeness

Jungian-informed therapy addresses these issues by fostering the psychological development of the entire personality, not just the presenting problem.

Please note: full Jungian analysis can only be facilitated by a certified Jungian analyst. We describe our approach as "Jungian-informed therapy" because, while our clinicians are not certified Jungian analysts, we draw meaningfully from Jungian principles and concepts to enrich the therapeutic process.

The Core Concepts of Jungian Therapy

Jungian-informed therapy draws on several foundational ideas. Many parts of who we are lie beneath the surface, outside of our everyday awareness. Gaining insight into these hidden dimensions and learning to integrate them into daily life is the heart of this approach.

    Person finding peace and meaning

    Archetypes

Universal patterns of behavior, including The Shadow, The Persona, and The Hero, that appear across human culture.

    Complexes

Unconscious emotional structures that quietly shape our reactions, like inferiority or authority complexes.

    Symbols

Meaningful images from dreams, art, and mythology that channel instinctive, unconscious energy.

    Meaning & Purpose

Psychological development flourishes when we actively integrate dimensions of our personality to find true purpose.

Who Can Benefit from Jungian-Informed Therapy

This approach may be particularly valuable if you are seeking more than just surface-level coping strategies.

    Recurring Patterns

You experience recurring patterns in relationships, emotions, or behaviors that you cannot seem to change through willpower alone.

    Deeper Roots of Distress

You are navigating depression, anxiety, addictions, or compulsions that feel connected to something deeper than day-to-day stress.

    Seeking Meaning

You are seeking greater self-knowledge, a stronger sense of identity, or a clearer sense of meaning and purpose in your life.

    Exploring the Inner World

You are drawn to exploring your inner world through dreams, imagery, or creative expression as part of your healing.

    What the Process Looks Like

Jungian-informed therapy is not a short-term, symptom-focused intervention. It is a process of ongoing exploration and growth:

    Exploration of the Unconscious

Early sessions focus on building a safe, trusting relationship in which deeper material can be openly explored without judgment.

    Identifying Patterns

Together, we identify the unconscious complexes, archetypes, and shadow elements driving current struggles.

    Integration Work

We help you bring unconscious material into conscious awareness, reducing their hidden power over your daily life.

    Building Meaning

As integration deepens, clients often experience a clearer sense of identity, purpose, and direction.
